LOOKING AND LEAPING

I have had a fair amount of practice at taking wild leaps into the unknown. I am also a very accomplished hesitater, exceptionally skilled at leaning back and surveying the scene for an eternity before I make a move. I have never really learned, though, how to keep my eyes open while I am taking a risk. The tension of excessive hesitation usually builds up to a fever and then I just spaz out and flail into action. For the first time in my life, I am having the sensation of maintaining an state of awareness while I attempt to do something new. Turns out it's slow motion terrifying.I think I like it.
